The ECHOES Cascading Grants Programme provides funding to engage with the Cultural Heritage Cloud, developed by the ECHOES (European Cloud for Heritage OpEn Science) project. There will be three calls in total over the project's lifetime and the first call for projects - on DATA - is now open. It aims to support projects that contribute heritage data to the Cultural Heritage Cloud and would like to make use of its tools and infrastructure.
The programme is aimed at any stakeholders from the Cultural Heritage Community, particularly encouraging submissions from smaller, medium-sized and/or lesser resourced cultural heritage institutions (CHI) as well as interdisciplinary consortia. As ECHOES is funded under the EU's Horizon Europe programme, any CHI interested in applying individually or as leading a consortium needs to be located in a Horizon Europe country in order to be eligible.
A maximum of 12 projects will receive up to EUR 60,000 each. The platform for submitting proposals will become available in April with the deadline to submit proposals being 15 May 2025.
Aggregators such as Archives Portal Europe can help in establishing standardised connections with the Cultural Heritage Cloud on behalf of the CHIs they work with as content providers. If you are considering to apply for the ECHOES Cascading Grant, please feel free to reach out to us via info@archivesportaleurope.net to see how we can support you and your project.
